Carries 2 Bikes (3 And 4 With Optional Accessories). Designed specifically for larger cars, vans, estates and MPV's the Thule 973 BackPac provides a secure tailgate mounting, and carries 2 bikes (3 and 4 bike options available), mounting them high up in order to prevent obscuring the rear lights and numberplate. Quick adjust wheel straps and a non scratch frame holder ensure the carrier is suitable for all bikes, even those with non standard frames, whilst individual cycle locks feature for added security. The BackPac is made from high quality steel and aluminium, with a maximum load capacity of 60kg.
It can be folded for easy storage in the boot of your vehicle when not in use. Expand the carrying capacity of the BackPac with the 3rd (973-23) and 4th (973-23 + 973-24) cycle adaptors (total capacity varies dependant on the vehicle) TUV approved, includes Thule's 5 year guarantee. This Rack is supplied with a 973-18 kit for a VW T5 and T6, it may also fit others. Rear mounted cycle carriers are not suitable for the majority of vehicles with rear spoilers. Rear lights and numberplate must not be obscured, if this is the case a lighting board and additional numberplate are required by law. High mounting position allows for lights and numberplate to remain visible on most cars, vehicles with high positioned rear lights.
