Mottez single wheel 5 bike trailer carrier towbar mounted hardly used, extras
This trailer is great for transporting up to 5 bikes (75Kg total) and we've added an extra Fiamma Carry-bike D2 Pro securing arm to make it even better. As supplied from Mottez, the 5th bike straps to its neighbour, which risks scratches. The Fiamma arm solves this problem - see pictures. We've used this half a dozen times, but have got rid of a couple of bikes so no longer need the trailer. The trailer is in very good condition, with no signifiant scratches or chips.
Tyre is excellent, with very little wear. Comes complete with all fixing straps, reflectors, padlock, instructions, as originally supplied. PLUS additional Fiamma arm for 5th bike. It's especially good if your car doesn't have enough nose weight for carrying 4 or 5 bikes because the wheel takes most of the load. Unlike two-wheeled trailers, this is a doddle to reverse as the single wheel pivots like on a shopping trolley, so you don't need to counter steer, but can simply reverse as normal.
Carries 5 bikes at 15Kg each to 75Kg total. Approved to 110 kmh on the continent, but we've stuck to 60 mph in the UK. Bike frames secured to folding supports and wheels strapped to cradles.
Trailer's articulation system makes one body with your car. Easy parking manoeuvres, no counter-steering.
Access to the boot on 80% of vehicles. On MPVs or other vehicles with big tailgates, access to the boot may be restricted. According to Mottez:'To allow boot opening, the distance between the top of the towball and the loading threshold must be equal or superior to 120 mm. Compact, can be stood on its end (vertically) for easy storage. Can be used for storing your bikes.
Integrated light board socket with 7 pins lights, brakes, indicators, fog light (moved to UK side). The carrier will work with both swan neck and flange towbars. However, for flange towbars, Mottez give some minimum distances, the most important of which is the length of the neck. We bought a long reach or Alko hitch tow ball. All in all, a great way to easily transport a lot of bikes on almost any car with a towbar.It takes a little while to set up initially, but after that attaches and detaches really easily and is a breeze to tow.
