Witter ZX404 Cycle Carrier Flange Towbar Mounted Tilting 4 Bike Cycle Carrier

ZX404 is a genuine 4 cycle carrier (not a 3 + 1) It attaches to the most secure fixing point available on every vehicle, a permanent plate mounted behind the towball. The platform will fold down allowing access to the car luggage compartment.

Carries 4 bikes, max load 65kg. Adjustable wheel holders (suitable for large MTB tyres).

Includes 13pin connector complete with 7pin adapter. Frame holder secures frames up to 70 mm. Quick release ratchet straps secure bike wheels. Rigid arms hold the cycle frames apart. Soft rubber bike frame holders.

Eight stage metal treatment and paint process. Clips on and off permanent mounting plate. Fits perfectly every time, no towball adjustments. One piece welded mainframe, minimal assembly required. Carrier weighs 19.6 kg.

Modern aluminium cross rails give greater wheel holder adjustment. Wheel holder angle centres cycles and reduces lateral movement. Foot operated tilt lever leaves both hands free to lower the carrier.

Tilt lock indicator shows carrier confirms lock down after tilt. Full UK lights including Fog and Reverse. Lightweight aluminium cycle support arms feature. Head and base rotation for maximum articulation. Soft holders that carefully secures any frame shape and cycle position.

Ratchet strap frame attachment with tension adjuster. Arms can be quickly detached/attached from carrier to ease loading/unloading of cycles. NOT suitable for swan neck style towbars. +900mm 1100mm wide for ferry dimensions.

There is a video here which is helpful. "A super-sturdy, secure and well-considered multi-bike rack". I have used this a few times. Easy to use and sturdy. Please note that the bar that is used to secure the 4th bike was lost on our first trip.

But, we found that a cheap D-lock and/or chain lock was a perfect (and possibly better) alternative. Heavy, so collection only from Battersea SW11. I should stress that I got someone else to do this so please do check for yourself.

The rack itself is fully assembled. The rack then slots into the plate. That plate is secured to the towbar with two M16 bolts.
